Namrata Datt
Founder & Director
Namrata Datt is a senior business leader with over two decades of experience in India and Australia.
She is Founder & Director, Lotus Advisers, a consultancy dedicated to driving successful partnerships in the Australia-India business corridor. Namrata divides her time between Australia and India. She has a deep understanding of the Indian market and strong relationships in the business eco-system across varied regions, industries and domains. She is also a regular speaker on doing business in India and strengthening bilateral trade and investment.
She has advised government, peak industry bodies and businesses, providing strategic business insights on India and Australia, developing trade and market entry pathways and partnership opportunities.
Namrata is also a member of the national board of the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) and President of the AIBC in Queensland. The AIBC is Australia’s largest bilateral business chamber to promote trade and investment with India with a presence in six Australian states. In her role as a board member and state president, Namrata engages regularly with federal and state government representatives, in addition to industry bodies, chambers and businesses.
Until 2021, Namrata was National Director and Head for Brand Marketing & Communications at EY (Ernst & Young) India, the leading global professional services organisation. Her role was focussed on achieving both brand, partnerships and business outcomes, engaging closely with businesses, government, industry bodies, media and the wider community.
Namrata has significant experience in research and authoring of detailed reports both in EY, where she led the flagship India Attractiveness Survey Program for several years.
She has also served as a senior business journalist/editor in two of India’s leading Indian media houses, The Times of India and Business India magazine. She has authored several detailed reports on Indian industry, sectors and corporate houses.
Namrata has a Master’s in International Business from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in New Delhi, India and is also an alumnus of the Times School of Journalism, New Delhi, India.
